My new single “August” releases on Sept. 1st!
It muses on the change of season that probably makes us the most sentimental: the transition from the abundant bloom of summer with its long, glorious evenings full of light, to different colours, darker hours and colder weather.
It’s also a reminder that youth doesn’t last forever and that love is often for those who take their chances.
I’m delighted that, along with the usual suspects – Ulrich Rode on electric guitars, Marius Goldhammer on bass and Mario Garruccio on drums – the wonderful Dania König graces the song with her delicate piano playing and incomparable backing vocals.
Thanks go to Fiachna Ó Braonáin in Ireland and John Godfrey in the UK, for spinning it on the radio first.
I hope this song will perform better on radio than “Life is good ” did and help me establish myself here in Ireland as an artist.
“August” will first release on Bandcamp and minm, with all major platforms following on September 8th!
The picture I used for the cover was taken in August 2022, somwhere on the Cork side of the Beara peninsula.
I will be going to Germany for a short run of gigs in late September/early October and I am delighted to tell you that I will be teaming up with Dan Raza from London, England in a rare hometown performance at JuBB Essen-Werden on September 21st.
I will also join forces with my friend John Blek from Ireland, for one night only on October 2nd at “The Upstage” in Dörphof, SH, my other home in Germany. Needless to say that I can’t wait to see all the friendly, familiar faces there!
